D. WRIGHT SIGMUND

Wright Sigmund is the Managing Partner of The Sigmund Companies where he directs the strategy and execution of the firm’s business plan. Mr. Sigmund is well known in the real estate industry as an astute executive and has a long history of building successful teams capable of outperformance across markets and product types. He has deep experience in real estate market fundamentals, investment analysis and deal making having individually worked on approximately 13 million square feet of space across the country and personally concluded leasing and investment transactions of an aggregate value of over $5 billion in gross value.

He was a Principal and led growth and operations for Pacific Star Capital where he oversaw all operations, fund raising and development of over $500 million in new build projects. Mr. Sigmund held the position of Senior Vice President and National Director – Leasing for one of the largest national private owners of shopping centers in the United States. Mr. Sigmund was responsible for the overall management and execution of the Company’s leasing strategy, merchandising vision and market position. Mr. Sigmund was a key player in the creation and management of what became a multi-billion dollar portfolio of convenience and necessity real estate across the country. Mr. Sigmund spent five years as the Director of Retail Leasing for Vornado/Charles E. Smith where he led the leasing, management and vision of the retail portfolio. Mr. Sigmund began his career in commercial real estate brokerage with CBRE as a member of one of the top producing retail teams in the country.

Mr. Sigmund obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Washington and Lee University and a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Maryland. Sigmund previously served on the Board of Directors for the Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association, the Georgetown Business Improvement District, Georgetown Heritage, Young Leaders Board of ULI and the Retail Task Force of the Rosalyn Business Improvement District. He is an active member of ICSC and board member of the Washington and Lee University DC Alumni Chapter.

Mr. Sigmund is an active member of the philanthropic community having leadership positions in a number of organizations including the Trust for the National Mall, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief. Mr. Sigmund is the founder of the non-profit hyper local delivery platform, Crispus.
