The Sigmund Companies was founded in order to build enduring value for our people, investors and the communities we serve. 

 

After decades leading retail leasing, operations and acquisitions for major investors, our principals are executing on an entrepreneurial venture to capitalize on the unique generational opportunity resulting from the current economic upheaval. Beyond 'Retail-Curious,' Investors Are Ready For A Store Spending Spree

More investors are looking to acquire assets — grocery-anchored retail and well-located unanchored plazas are attracting the most interest. “There's perhaps more new entrants interested in investing in retail at this moment than there have been for the past 10 years,” said Wright Sigmund, managing partner at The Sigmund Cos., a retail investment firm based in Washington, D.C.

Atlantic Property Management moves into Connecticut with 172,000 s/f assignment

Groton, CT According to Atlantic Property Management, The Sigmund Companies has selected the company to manage a premier 172,000 s/f retail property. "We are excited to partner with The Sigmund Companies in managing this prominent property in Groton," said Chad Boulay, COO at Atlantic Property Management.

Open-Air Groton Shopping Center Trades to Sigmund Companies Partnership

The Sigmund Companies (TSC) and Broadview Real Estate Partners acquired Groton Shoppers Mart, a 171,858-square-foot open-air, grocery-anchored shopping center at 955 Poquonnock Rd. in Groton, CT. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Rhizome is D.C.'s hottest new spot for the arts.

According to the The Washington Post, Rhizome is D.C.'s best new music venue. Located on the D.C. side of Takoma Park, The Sigmund Companies helped Rhizome locate their perfect new home at 6950 Maple Street N.W. While this simple, two-story house may look like a humble home, you'll find a bevy of rooms filled with music, art and creativity. Truly a Mecca for all artist and art lovers.

Joint Venture Acquires Shopping Center Portfolio in Woodbridge, Virginia for $52.8M

WOODBRIDGE, VA. — A joint venture between Ideal Realty Group, Rock Creek Property Group and The Sigmund Cos. has purchased a portfolio of four regional shopping centers in Woodbridge’s Dale City neighborhood. An affiliate of Interstate Management Inc. sold the  properties, which total 470,000 square feet, for $52.8 million. 

Donsak Owner to Open Sorn Thai Restaurant in McLean

The team behind Washington, D.C.’s Thai eatery Donsak will open a new Thai concept in McLean, Va., early next year.

Owner Supisa “Boom” Teawbut inked a 3,000-square-foot space at Chesterbrook Shopping Center to house Sorn Thai, a restaurant that will showcase the flavors of southern Thailand. The restaurant is named for Teawbut’s grandmother Sorn, whose recipes serve as the inspiration for the menu.
